University of Benin Presentation of Prizes, Award of Post-Graduates Diplomas, Conferment of Higher Degrees (Masters and Doctorate), Hall of Fame Award and Conferment of Honorary Degrees/Professor Emeritus held on the 25th of November,2017 at the Akin Deko Auditorium. Present at the event were President, Commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari GCFR ably represented by prof.Chinedu Mafiana, the Chancellor Mahammad Sanusi II the Emir of Kano, the Pro chancellor Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru (con) , the Governor of Edo state ably represented Barr. Osarodion Ogie Esq , the Vice Chancellor of the great University Prof. F.F.O Orunmwense FNSE and his entourage ,One time formal Vice Chancellor of this great University, the First woman Vice Chancellor Prof Grace Alle Willams, visiting Vice Chancellor from other University, guest from all over the Country staff and students of the University.
This University of Benin 43rd Convocation present the conferment of Higher Degree (Master’s and Doctorate), conferment of Honorary Degrees, Conferment of Professor of Emeritus
Professor Grace Awani Alele Willams (OFR) Confirmed With Honorary Degree Of Doctor Of Science
The University of Benin on the recommendation of Senate and with the approval of Council has found Professor Grace Awani Alele willams (OFR) worthy to be confirm the Honorary Degree of Doctor of science to onetime Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin and also the first female vice chancellor in Nigeria and the first woman to earn a PhD. and also the conferment of honorary degree to Chief Dr .George Osemwengie Agbonlahor (JP). Prof. Grace Alele Williams gave an address on behalf of the Honorary Grandaunts.
Prof. Louis Ikechukwu Ojogwu Conferred With The Award Of Emeritus Professor
The Provost of college of medicine Prof. Efosa Oviasu gave the citation for the Professor Emiritus by the recommendation and approval of senate and council found Prof. Louis Ikechukwu Ojogwu worthy to be conferred Emeritus Professor as the Chancellor confer him Professor Emeritus of the university of Benin
The Dean of Students Prof. O.B Osadolor present the award for 2015/2016 Academic Session best post graduate Diploma Graduates from the different Faculties and price winner
The Dean Of Post Graduate Studies also presented the Graduates for the award of post graduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctors of philosophy
Dominic Ose Erah of the Department of Accounting gave the valedictory message on behalf of the Grandaunts
The event finall came to an end with the chancellor declaring convocation closed
